Abstract: In 2022 Vectra monitored over 1 million cloud identities spanning the globe.  This visibility, combined with independent research, has enabled Vectra to understand the types of attacks and techniques attackers are currently using to progress their attacks.  In this session, we will report on the active techniques used to progress attacks against SaaS applications, including M365 and identity providers, so that you can be better prepared to stop future attacks.

Blue Team Workshop:  Hands on with Vectra AI Detection & Response

Abstract: Attackers have developed and honed techniques that allow them to orchestrate effective identity-based campaigns against enterprise SaaS applications, including applications in the M365 suite.  To defend against these attacks, teams should be aware of the techniques attackers are leveraging and the early signals of attacks so that they can respond before damage is done. In this hands-on blue team exercise, you will have the opportunity to review the early signals of an identity-based attack in a SaaS environment and how to respond before damage is done.

C2 Adversary Emulation with ./havoc

Speaker: Tom D'Aquino, Director of Security Validation

Abstract: Join Vectra's very own Tom D'Aquino, the author and maintainer of the ./havoc framework, for a dive into how to adopt offensive command-and-control tools like ./havoc to level-up the blue team.

Attacking Microsoft 365 and Azure AD with the MAAD Attack Framework

Speaker: Arpan Sarkar, TME - Threat Hunting

Abstract: In this session, we will take a hands-on approach to simulate a SaaS attack using the MAAD Attack Framework.  Cloud attacks progress with a significantly different set of techniques than network attacks focusing not on payload and malware but on abusing the permissions and the privilege of compromised identities to access and abuse native applications.  Attendees will be guided through the MAAD attack framework, a tool designed to replicate the techniques Vectra has observed used in the world by attackers.  By exploring the techniques used by attackers, defenders can be better positioned to stop attackers in their own environment.
